I have a Gemeinhardt M2 #2434XX. I don't know anything about it. I played for about a year in middle school. Since then it has been collecting dust. Any help would be much appreciated.

The M2's are mostly typical US made student flutes. The newer ones are supposed to be better than the older ones. My wife has a solid silver 53 Series Gemi that plays very well.

It was my mothers flute when she was in high school. When I got it, it only needed the pads replaced.

I was only wondering since it is a solid silver flute.

Then it must be a model 2S if it is solid (coin) silver. 2SP is the student plated model and the 2S has a silver tube.

AFAIK the M2 model, too, is a silver plated student model. By today's standards pretty disappointing to play. But durable. Typically worth the same or less than the money spent on getting them in good condition.
