The M2's are mostly typical US made student flutes. The newer ones are supposed to be better than the older ones. My wife has a solid silver 53 Series Gemi that plays very well.

Yes. It's not worth what you paid for it new in the 1970s.

AFAIK the M2 model, too, is a silver plated student model. By today's standards pretty disappointing to play. But durable. Typically worth the same or less than the money spent on getting them in good condition.
