Just wondering if a Gator case has a hard exterior shell.

I really need a new case and like the accessory pockets. I just need to know if I am going to purchase yet another repair person's dream case or if a Gator will really protect my horn.

Thanks!

Gator makes two cases, a GC and a GL. Both protect a horn well. The GC is the hard case. Google "Gator case" for all the info you need. Progearwarehouse has competive pricing and good service.

New - the foam that surrounds the sax inside the case is backed by plywood all around - sides, top and bottom. (I know it's plywood around the sides; I'm assuming the hard material on the top and bottom is also plywood). It's a protective case, just don't check it as baggage on a plane. It's very sturdy for day-to-day use.
