My high A(not altissimo) sounds fuzzy, but all the other notes sound fine. Is there any way to fix it? Also, there is a hole in the small pad on the neck. Could this possibly be the cause?
A2 is the spot where the upper octave vent opens and the lower vent closes. Whenever something goes wrong there, the first thing I check is to see if the whole octave system is working properly. I would think a hole in the upper octave pad may cause problems if it affects the manner in which the vent seals and opens. Maybe material from the hole became stuck in the tone-hole. DAVE
Does the A get any better when you roll your forefinger forward onto the Bis Bb pearl?
If it does, you need to have the regulation between the A and Bis Bb keys tweaked.
