Does anyone know where I could find a fusion mouthpiece for bari? It seems like almost all of them are just made for tenor. I'm looking for something like KWII, Peter Ponzol M2 Plus, or Phil Barone's Fusion piece, except for bari. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
Runyon has a lot of high baffle choices. Most are inexpensive enough that you can buy one and have it hand finished for less $ than other "high end" mouthpieces. Try a Custom Quantum Spoiler. It is made out of Delrin.
I hate to sound "noobish", but can anyone give me a youtube example or something of the likes of this "jazz fusion"? I hear OF it a lot, and I'm not sure if I've actually heard it . Thanks.
so MOJO, the dlerin quantum is a pretty good piece? I am too looking for something with more cut than my link STM on bari and it seemed that the quantum matched my needs. Do you have any experience playing this piece or opinions on the other runyon models?
I played on the Delrin one for about 2 years in an amplified jump-swing band. Trumpet-tenor-bari. I used an 11 and a 13 with a Spoiler at peak volume needs. After that band, I changed to a metal Quantum 11. It is just a little darker and I find I can use it as an all-around piece.
I have tried several other Runyons. The XL/Smoothbores are brighter. The Jag is darker and a tad pricey. The Delrin Quantum is a good starting point because it is fairly inexpensive for what you get. It also lower cost to get it hand finished. I had JVW do mine since I was not into facing work yet.
the quantum is good but i really like the ponzel hr custom for bari for this type of work. best i found yet. i prefer it to the dukoff and metal berg i have
