No need to edit your post for me. :) However it did make me feel guilty for making light fun of a fellow sax player. Especially now that I see he is proud of his son.

I personally appreciate it when I see a guy make a lot of money playing the saxophone, because there are so few of us to do so. I also think Kenny has a lot of technical abilities on the saxophone, that many other sax players who dis-like his music, are unable to do. Kenny is good on the business end as well. e.g. I've heard from reliable sources, that Kenny has made more money from being an early, start-up investor in Starbucks, then he ever made with his CD's!

That said; I own only one of his CD's. I bought it for the sole reason that people have expected to hear his songs on various casual gigs.

I really find this hilarious.

OP, If you feel I'm disrailing your post, just let me know and I'll edit it out.

I liked both videos. Any man that proud of his son can surely take a little ribbing.

Kenny G horn really shines a lot lol
Yep,

It almost looks like it has been re-lacquered with a dark clear lacquer to give it that vintage Selmer look. As with many other things, I figure Kenny G is above, or oblivious to, practices that might considered taboo here on SOTW.

So... Is someone thinking he would sound better if he weren't playing a relaq???

I think I'll go worry about something.. no... anything else.

I did some snooping after watching that video and came across Max Gorelick's youtube page. Kenny has reason to be proud. The kid is quite talented on guitar. It also sheds some light on Kenny's comment about his son's preference for louder music with more edge. What I find particularly noteworthy is that Max rarely if ever mentions the fact that he's related to Kenny G. I know that statement in itself is probably going to be fodder for more jokes...like "Who in their right mind would admit to being related to Kenny G anyway?"...but I applaud him for not trying to use his father's notoriety to gain attention or acclaim for himself. Surely the contacts Kenny has in the music business will help his career, but he clearly wants to stand on his own two feet. He's still only 18 so he has plenty of growing to do musically, but it looks like he might have decent career ahead of him. The best thing he's done for himself since that video with his dad was to cut his hair. Seeing the two of them together like that reminded of the Brady Bunch.

You think Pat is a little jealous ?Thank God we have him around to educate us on what everyone should like.....Just because the G man is the top selling instrumentalist of all time in the history of music the haters will always be there to tell us why they suck.I can't really listen to too much of Metheny's music either.Even though he might think that everybody should love it because its "real" jazz.
