I have, in the past ,had to rock my mouthpieces left to right in order to get the reed vibrating evenly! I now, after closer inspection of my front teeth, have learned that one tooth is longer than the other! My dentist elongated the short tooth by 2 millimeters and my emboucher is set !!! Message! Don't take your teeth for granted! If you have a similar problem ask your dentist for help!

I also have one of my front teeth longer than the other but I've never noticed any problems coming from this. I don't quite understand the rocking thing that you describe.

I had my dentist remove a wee bit from one of my front teeth to allow the mpce to sit straight That way bottom lip pressure is even on the reed. Joe Allard is reputed to have kept a few dental files in his office

Agreed! Joe did carry files with him!! And wasn't afraid to use them!
LOL

I wonder at how the students must have felt when this passionate bearded guy started in on their teeth NO wonder he had such a great reputation. I wish someone had done that for me 50 years ago
