Of course he is!
Only that Kenny G. might be better business man, that's how he got his millions...
Carl has talent and very nice sound and I'm sure he could do better than playing live on the street, he deserves more sucess doing his music, you may like it or not, but he's a great player.

Um, I disagree, and I no Kenny G fan. Just saw him last month (June 2010). Ferris plays the same 6 tunes over and over. Yeah he hits some high notes and plays a few runs, but I just don't hear much real talent or musicianship there. What I DO hear is a ton of reverb and sustain. Try to find him playing more than 6-8 tunes of Youtube. I dare ya. Or if you actually GO to the Fremont St. Experience, go back and listen to him an hour after listening the first time. You'll hear the same six tunes over again. He might find it hard to make more than he's bringing in right now from the tourists, most who don't know Kenny G from Adam, or at least Coltrane from Bird. Where could he play those six tunes over and over every night and expect to get any repeat customers? There's a reason (probably several) why he plays what he does, where he does.
