Does anyone know where I can get transcriptions of Frankie Trumbauer solos, especially "Singin The Blues" (1927) with Bix Beiderbecke? I don't want to have to buy an entire "fake book" just for 2 or 3 numbers by Tram.

Michael: Welcome to SOTW. You've chosen (in Frank Trumbauer) one of the best C-Mel players EVER! While I have a C-mel I don't sound like Tram. But on alto, I can replicate that solo well enough. Some bands I play with like to do a lot of the Bix material - and I love it. I'm listening to that tune as I write this.

I have a hand-written Eb concert lead line with chords for SINGIN' THE BLUES ('TIL MY DADDY COMES HOME), if you are interested. Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll see if I can scan it to you. DAVE
