I listened to this podcast interview with Frank Tiberi:

Interesting conversation about his career, etc. I was wondering if anyone knows more about Frank's deceptive inserts concept. He covers it fairly quickly in conversation and am wondering if anyone has studied with him, etc. and may be able to expand on Frank's approach.

Scooby, You know Frank replaced Wardell with BG , back in the day at age 19 right? Also Frank is a real strong bassoonist, some of that stuff he does play on tenor is so entrenched from the Trane thing but also morfed 20th century stuff too.I got ideas- I'm out the door here - 2 wedding gigs, and long drives. Get me thru Facebook-maybe Skype and so on- I got some theory's about his stuff. I'll be cognizant Monday lol. Don't worry, I never eat that food ha!! Yak SOON.

Frank is the man!!! Complex stuff.

Tim,

I knew that Frank played with Benny, but I didn't know that he replaced Wardell!

I've loved Frank ever since I saw him with Woody back when I was in high school. I haven't heard him live in quite awhile, but have checked out a few CDs he's put out.

I'll get a hold of you to get your thoughts on Frank's concept. He discusses it a little at one point in this podcast, but it's pretty quick and didn't get to all the details.
