I do alto and flute and have been tired for along time of putting the flute in the side pocket of the alto. so I tryed out (and sent back ) a couple of cases and found a trepak case from propac. Its expensive (250) but is very sturdy and has room for my flute inside a portion of the case. Its heavy but I sent back a few cases that I didn't trust if I had to fly the horn. I like this one. I don't need the clarinet portion so thats extra batteries , chapstick, and tuner space. Anyway, I'm happy. Problem solved K

I guess?

For those of you who need three instruments, try to find a Selmer Tri Pack (tripak?) case. They don't make them anymore, but they pop up on Ebay from time to time. They are slightly bigger than a standard selmer case, but it holds alto, clarinet and flute perfectly. And it's wood. And it has latches on it. I also have the grey zipper selmer tripack case as well, and the wood one is way better.

You can also modify the wood case to hold piccolo as well (assuming you put the sax neck in the bell).

Whaler:

Why would a traypack/tripac style case stop you?

We'll get requests from time to time and packing up early would cause a problem if the request was, for arguments sake, moonlight serenade and you're playing the clarinet part.

I have the cases under my stand or sitting next to me in close quarters where the tri pack wouldn't fit.
