Hey everyone,

Just wanted to give these reeds another shout out. I just got in a white bamboo and a new Black Bamboo W-Blast reed. Still haven't gotten a bad reed from these guys. I played both of these about for over an hour each and they played wonderfully, never shutting down like some people seem to have happen. I'll recommend these to anyone. Its been so nice not to have to fight cane anymore. Just an FYI, I played all of these on my alto with my 10mfan Daddy-O, and I've gotta say its my favorite MPC combination by far. My new recording over at the beginner/intermediate thread is on the White bamboo. Its got me slightly more edgy than the black bamboo and I loved it.

I was a little hesitant with the white bamboo because the tip of the reed was a little rough looking. Just saying, if you make the plunge on these, don't judge a book by its cover! Loving Forestone reeds, about time to invest for my Tenor and Soprano.

Anyone else find these enjoyable?

I have an on/off relationship with them:)
I love the great response and dynamic and general ease of playing and don't love the lack of resistance, the somewhat neutral sound and the fact that they get softer and close off in fortissimo/altissimo (at least with me).
I liked the white bamboo a bit better and used them primaly for classical playing.
I have to try them again soon to start another round in our relationship....

Glad you have enjoyed them as well, Hoping to hear some more positive stories.

On that note: I think the white bamboo is my new preference, but the W-Blast adds some color and a bit of edge to the black bamboo reed, so I'm going to give that one some more time as well. My favorite is the responsiveness of these reeds though, really easy and enjoyable to play.
