I prefer open mouthed, for a brighter sound. If it has it closed, along with the higher weight, then it is much too darker for my tastes.

I may ask for a snake's head, for a more striking sound.

That's been up for sale for a while. I guess that it's African art, I don't know much about it, but there are people that do collect it, I've come across African Art in the insurance biz.
It might look kind of cool on a clarinet.

I dont know why all the haters. Seller does not claim that the shape of the head makes the sound more spiritual and elemental. Interesting take on the artistic barrel. For years Backun barrels have been popular. Them looking unique probably has something to do with it...

I'm a (bad) clarinetist with almost everything, yeah, I'd go for it if it were cheaper lol... Although I'd really need a custom carved one with the face screaming in horror and hands over the ears! :D

I think it’s an interesting idea. Not for me though. It’s about the music for me, not the bling. Other people like to dress their stuff up. That’s okay too. Why African art? Maybe a carving of Edvard Munich’s The Scream.

I don't see "the scream", he/ she looks pretty calm. Maybe pre-Columbian style art.
