My new 10M arrived today. I am so stunned on the appearance...but wait..how about the sound...would it be as good? and the result is oh my God....

its the best sounding sax I have ever owned. Its big, focused and dark. I think Im gonna keep it for the rest of my life... (tried with link NY, wonder how it would sound with the florida that is still in transit =) )

Told a friend of mine who got a mark 6 (cant remember serial but I think he said around 65 ish), he came over and tried the horn, he cant believe it, this thing killed his 6 instantly. But ergonomically, 6 is much better...

Vive le conn!!

Frankly I feel this one is too good for me...

well Its already taken most of my evening time...my wife and my son is complaining...

The moment it arrived, I was busy from opening the huge package and then spent like 15-20 minutes examining and admiring it, then play it for about 1 hour before I went to take shower than played some more with auebersold play along books, realy enjoy it so much. Then took a hell of a time taking pictures just like a new star in the house.

absolutely love it!! Its not cheap considering the price i bought, but, its worth the deal =)

Thanks for Randy from Tenor Madness. You re the man!!

Nice 10M

That's a good looking 10M. I have had mine around a month and I have to say it is the best tenor I have owned. My MarkVI friend played mine and he was a bit depressed about having to go home to play his. :) How is the case?

You know... Thwe Chu alto lamp porject is almost finsished and it would make a perfect match to your tenor. KILLER PAIR in matching silver with gold washed bells.

Hi Hutmo!! Yeah I've been following the poor chu story, those bastards!! I am so happy to see she almost has her own pride and dignity!! Hahaha how do you know I am looking for the silver alto...yeah looking to get a pair for it. I am collecting this thing little by little. You re selling it?? Oh boy, you should not! I would keep it and put it in a display case and put a placard with 2 framed pictures, before and after!! You have done the work, it should stay with you!

A friend of mine with 1965ish mark 6 (cant remember his serial), came to my place, tried this one and beged me to borrow it for his gig. I am gonna let him use it next week after my gig hehehe. I dont know much about 6 maybe his is a bad one hehehe.

Now case , yeah the only thing missing with this 10m is the original case. Randy hasnt got 1. Apparantly he got it without original case as well. Do you know how can I get an original 10M case? I wold love to buy one to completely restore its vintage appearance.

Great stuff with your 10M!! Look I think personally...they are the best...but its just me and I believe all conn lovers will agree =) Its got the right power, right sound. The only thing I hate about them is the g# key position as I dont have a big wide hand =).

I am not an alto guy...

My plan from the start was to bring her back to life or have a cool lamp if she was beyond help and then find her a good home where she will be appreciated. When Jim is done she will sing.

GOD! My mouth is watering. Not to be rude at all, but how mch did you purchase this beauty for? This looks great. So far, it is the nicest silver plated Conn 10M Model that I have seen so far. I would very much enjoy polishing it. I am really in to that, and I have done it for a couple of friends' horns. Sweet. Can I borrow her by any chance? I will have her back by nine. ;)

That horn is gorgeous! I would hang onto that NY Link for a while though. I've played a few vintage Links and still wouldn't get rid of my NY. Get a feel for what both pieces can do before you sell. Actually...what is the facing size of that piece? If it isn't a 7* I may be interested.

HUTMO, you're forcing me to go to Jim's and check that Chu out before it becomes SOTW folklore. This isn't good. Everytime I go into the store, I end up getting a GAS attack, I take out the credit card and...

Before you sell it, you might want to have Bootman reface it for you. He has been playing a 10M for a while with a refaced Link NY - it could be a beautiful thing.

Enjoy!

chu- not at all mate, I was thinking of keeping the price secret as I had a deal with Randy. But I think he wouldnt mind, the horn was priced for US$3990 and I paid that much including shipping. (free shipping to AUstralia is the only bonus I get, Randy is a bit tight on that hehehe)

I was thinking of not selling the NY, i know that...but since I have spent a great deal of money...so I thought I could get at least some dollars for my weekend shopping with my wife and son. I;ve spent about $5000 cash in less than a week... I still have $7000 credit limit on my credit card and almost spent it on a nice late mark 6 for $4000 but naaah.... But to think it over again, christmas bonus is almost near, so...maybe I'll keep it..

DrG, whats a refacing...people is talking about this alot I am like..dohh?? Does it mean modifying the tip of the MP for larger one? Its 7* NY and 7* florida (coming soon)

Hutmo, how much you wanna sell that lady for? Just curious as I dont think I can spend more money now. =) I had a 6m alto, sold it few weeks ago.

Thanks folks for those kind words, making me cry...and make me forget the low bank ballance.

Well no new car next year I guess...
