congrats!! I've been missing mine a lot since I gave it to Lance Burton for a modernization more than 2 years ago and never saw it again!
The sound is mighty, wonderful core. Irreplaceable horn.

ooooh shiny!

Yeah the sound is huge. I had mine set up with oversize metal resos and a fairly open key height and it just roars! it can whisper too and the sound has a surprising amount of focus. I think the bare brass looks pretty cool too although who knows what it's going to look like in a month or a year's time!

That's really awful about losing your horn like that... I hope you get all kinds of good karma (or your horn back)

Raphyel: (assuming you're referring to my Chu and not CONN-Hunter's) she plays like a dream! I'm able to get the kind of big, round sound that I've been looking for on tenor. Tons of warmth and power, and a surprisingly focused sound. The keywork feels pretty nice too, I'm still getting used to the LH pinky table but it's got a really smooth kind of action. I feel like the pitch on these horns is a lot more flexible than, say, a Yamaha - it can be played in tune fairly easily and the scale is pretty even but bending notes seems to have a bigger effect with these older horns.

all in all, lots of fun!

Maybe you should give Lance Burton call.
when it were that easy. He hides himself and always manage to find the most creative excuses for this kidnapping.
The sax doesn't look any longer nicely as in this picture. He stripped the sax, lost parts and refuse to send it back.

Eric should have got it back in January 2011. He's waiting until today.
I wish my sax back.

After reading some of the MartinMods threads this week,I'm disappointed to see the experience people were having with the gentleman running that operation.
I worked with Lance consistently and continuously for three years, back in the late 90's and can personally attest to the extremely devious and dubious nature of his "character".
He would have made a great Joseph Goebbels clone,as he was a master in that art of deception and manipulation, brilliant but totally deviant at the same time.

I personally wouldn't trust the man as far as I could throw him........

Hi Pops!

Unfortunately such testimonies about his person are coming too late. Imagine a horn like that!! I spent more than 2,000 US$ on it. Furthermore this sax was my favorite among dozens of saxophones I bought through the years. I selected this one among many and decided to send to USA for this Modification (pinky table)
The sax now is dismatled, delacquered (because he didn't like the nice old lacquer), parts lost and most worst... he doesn't send the sax back.

Sorry to hear that man.I know it's late, but it is good for future situations if people get familiar with who is bonafide and who is not :)

Don't worry man,you are still alive and you will find a horn that you will accept as your own again!
Peace,Pops.

Great looking horn and I bet it plays as great as it looks.
I just love the old Conns.
What mouthpiece do you use on it?
I'm currently using a refaced Otto Link Tone Edge HR (one of the newer ones) at a 7* facing which works very well for me but I've been thinking about trying some other mouthpieces. If I could afford it I would probably be playing a Ted Klum Focustone in a slightly bigger facing, but I sadly I don't have that kind of cash...

Phew yea! Ted Klum! that's a lot of money for a piece! With some links coming to almost $2000 these days it seems like a better investment to just buy a new horn instead lol!
I bought a few links in the states and the UK when they were still relatively cheap ten years ago,but still, you got to play and you know you need a great piece to play on.
We're being held to ransom if you ask me!

Oh man, I thought it was not allowed to show porn pictures on the forum.

Great looking horns, guys. And that is one jaw dropping engraving, Jason. A piece of art.
If my New Wonder didn't look like the junkyard dogs pee pole I sure would have it engraved
by you.
