Jim is THE MAN! Not long after you started this post I had the opportunity to test play several vintage horns that had received recent overhauls by him. They were all unbelievable players. I ended up buying one , a 1946 Top Hat & Cane that is far and away the best tenor I've ever played. I took it by and showed it to my tech here in Dayton. He was not familiar with Jim's work but he gave it the once over and said, "This guy does great work."

Picked up my Conn 10M at Hollis and Germann's Repair Shop. Jim as usual... did a totally fabulous job.

The key work is quick but Tight as a drum and totally quiet with the springs set oh so right. Once you have a sax
rebuilt by a top tech with attention to detail and one that understands how a sax should feel they are something to savor.

I have not been playing a ton lately so it took a while to get the link blowing again. Once it did this thing picked right up where my 319XXXleft off. Jim used the crinkle resos and he filled up the opening area with nice sized resos overall.

I had Jim do the pads in black with black felt, moved the hook for better balance and added a Selmer style thumbrest.

I bought this from the original owner who had it since his father bought it for him in 1947/48. With the Germann rebuild this thing will be ready for another 50 years of use.

As for the engraving.. she is a pretty one. My last one had a perky cute look.

It looks better in person...
