Hi everyone, I'm interested in purchasing a Fiberreed Carbon for my Jody Jazz DVNY 9 bari mouthpiece. It's a monster of a mouthpiece so I'm aiming for a softer reed but I'm not sure exactly which strength to go with. I play a Legere Signature 2.5 on my Jody Jazz Jet 7 which I have been having success with, but obviously since it's my only synthetic and it's an entirely different mouthpiece it's not helping me make a choice.

If anyone has suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it!

I've got one of these for tenor and it blows a bit soft for me. I would guess you will probably want a medium soft or medium for a bari piece with that open a tip. Their website says they honor exchanges but I don't know exactly what that means so you might want to contact them before ordering to see if they will let you exchange one for a different strength after trying it.

Thanks both of you! I'll contact them and see what the exchange would entail, probably will end up trying medium-soft since the tip opening is huge.
