Nice bluesy tone quality and great use of space. A fine example of less is more. Is that a tune you made up or something else? It sounds familiar.

It was very nice. I might steal it. :)

Were I to put lyics to it, they might look like:

There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one

My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new bluejeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans

Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk

------ organ solo ------

Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain

Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one

BTW, it was very nice playing. Very enjoyable. I was just talking about the chord progression. Reminded me of House of the Rising Sun.

:) funny that Maddenma should say so, I too, had the feeling (if only at the start) that this was gonna be something on the line of " House of the rising sun" but later, it wasn't.

I liked it, nicely and sensibly done (perhaps the very first few notes suffered of a bit of intonation problems due to getting used to the breath support but I am being very fussy, I know).

Once again I had to think that this would be best used for a Audio or Visual production (radio, television, film). It seems to be the ideal piece of music to introduce and support the titles (for example) or to be the soundtrack for a George Simenon " Maigret" production (not hard-boiled enough to be supporting something like Chandler's Philip Marlowe story :bluewink:)

There could be the space , for this piece, to add some more instruments to support the " wave" feel of this slow swing like very subtle strings (albeit synthesised ) perhaps just the hint of an accordion.

Take no notice of the music used in these videos, just the idea...........!

Thanks for the comments. Yea, much in the blues bag sounds the same, especially the limited chord structure; it's all about what you do with it.

The blues demands that you sing out a melody and tell a story. To do this you need to use much of your bag of tricks: dynamics, tone color, bend notes and rhythm, etc.

To answer "addicted to sax": it's all made up as this was a totally improvised one take piece. It was edited down due to the guitar deciding to use the slide during his solos (sounded awful as he almost never plays slide). Simple structures can demand even more of you in order to make something of them.

As with most of the stuff I post the guitar is isolated completely on one track. This allows anyone who wants to download this and then do their own thing. Have a go and repost it here if you like.
