Not 100% sure where this needed to go, so an admin can feel free to move it, but...

I've been using Ezo for years, but it's getting increasingly harder and harder to find for me. I can sort of find it on Amazon, but it's either way too expensive or I'm not sure I trust it to get to me and be the right thing. Does anyone have any similar alternatives?

For instance, I can find this pretty easily, but I'm not sure about the "adhesive" part of it:

Sea Bond Denture Adhesive Seals Lowers Original, 30 Each - 11509002068 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ECXUZO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_qygtEbFJ1Z7JT

Well, up in N.Y. and N.E. they sell them in any one of the chain drugstores like Duane Reed, CVS, Rexall etc and at Walmart's Pharmacy too. Don't any of those places have them down your way?.

Truthfuly I don't know of any substitute mainly because I have never looked for one since I found EZO thanks to Alto Ruth on here. I'm on my second box but the first one lasted for years because I get 2 protectors out of each EZO piece and use each till it falls apart. When they get misshapen I just put the thing in a glass of hot water and then reform it and cool it again. That takes it back to the correct shape. Generally after being cleaned with H202 a couple of times they start to degrade and I toss them. I don't use them all the time anyway, just for Sop and alto. On tenor I don't get a sore lip because the embouchure is looser.

Good Luck

Holy Crap!!! I just looked on Amazon and saw the price of the EZO cushions and almost spilled my coffee on my lap. $43 for 15!!! ***? I could swear when I bought them back about 5 years ago I didn't pay more than $7 or $8 at CVS. OMG what a rip off. No wonder you are asking. But have you compared the price at any of those retail pharmacies? I find it hard to believe they can charge that much. After all they're not made out of Silver or Titanium. And it is possible that at CVS they will have their own cheap brand of the similar product. Worth a shot, no?

Also on my Amazon page they show the following off-brands for a whole lot less and I bet they are the same basic thing:

Y-Kelin Denture Adhesive Cushion(Lower) 30 counts (pack of 1)
by Y-Kelin
3.2 out of 5 stars 35 ratings
Price: $5.20 ($0.17 / Count) + $6.30 shipping
This item is returnable
Size: pack of 1

pack of 1
$5.20

pack of 2
$10.49

pack of 4
$14.99

pack of 6
$18.99

This other brand may be good too.

Protefix Adhesive Padding Lower Jaw for Dentures 30 pcs
by Protefix
3.3 out of 5 stars 14 ratings
Price: $9.00 + $3.50 shipping
Adhesion Pads
30 pcs in pack
4 new from $9.00

This good thing is that with Amazon if you order and the product is not right for any reason you can return it for a full refund postage paid at no cost to you within 30 days. If you have Prime like I do, that means you can check something out and send it right back if it doesn't please you for whatever reason. I've done it with many things that I bought without being sure they were the right thing.

Good luck.

The company apparently has stopped making Ezo Denture Cushions and the high prices are simply "price gouging". Tomorrow I am going to go to my local drugstore and buy every box they still have in stock. I don't think the "adhesive" types are going to be a good substitute. Maybe if the adhesive wears off, who knows?

Damn. If it's not one thing going down the tubes or getting priced in the stratosphere, it's another. Who the hell would have though that they'd have the balls to charge that much for what are basically pieces of netting covered with wax? It's maddening. I'm gonna have to get my sister in Boston to go to Walgreens and get some for me because they don't exist in Spain nor does anything similar to my knowledge. And they work so well. Who knows about any of that other stuff. For sure you're right about the adhesive ones and definitely the goo in a tube is useless. $%&%$&€ it!!

I know this question was asked almost a year ago, but with EZO being discontinued and people on Ebay price gouging, I thought I would let you know about a product that I found being discussed on a clarinet forum. It's thin paraffin sheets that work the same way as EZO..cut a piece, fold it, place in mouth. Cheap too! I just ordered them for my son who plays sax. All-Natural Clarinet Teeth/Lip Protector Cushions

One silver lining to this pandemic cloud, the material for disposable facemasks works too. Trim off the outer reinforced material, and then cut small patches out of the main mask. They're fairly durable and you can get a lot out of just one mask.
