I just bought an Evette Schaeffer tenor as a horn to get back in shape on. Any opinions on the the E-S? I don't plan on this being my "destination" horn, but I hope it will be adequate for getting back in playing shape.

Just wondering what kinds of experiences anyone might have had with these horns.

I bought an Evette alto and it was terrible. Maybe this was due to it being 20+ years old and i bought it off ebay for $100. I got it overhauled for about $700 but as the time went, ti fell into disrepair. I tried my mouthpiece on my friends selmer series 2 alto and it worked fine so it can be that. i dont know if you'll have as bad an experience as I did, but I would be very weary and cautious. To get back in shape, I would definitey reccomend a yts 23, but that may just be personal bias.
