Over forty years ago! We was playing with little technique (I still do it today
) and a lot of energy! We didn't know what overtones were but we knew that the audience loves very high notes and then we went with the harmonics without knowing what would come out.
I was playing a Loudwes sax (a stencil by Orsi) full of leaks and with a Super Swing metal mouthpiece by Professor Colletto that could make the walls fall.
We was using our cane reeds last for months, refining it with razor blades and sandpaper.
Today I do not risk an over-acute even if I control the instrument much better and I do not have the same energy but I played this piece with the nostalgia of my 20 years:
