I've been reading about mouthpiece engravers (or the lack thereof), and was wanting to spruce up my ebay piece. Talked to Eric Drake (who's local to me) and decided to bring the piece to him.

He did it for me on the spot, took about an hr ($85/hr), and wow, it looks great! It's a flowery design that stylistically matches the french engraving of my VI, and he also buffed it to a frosty/matte finish. I absolutely love it! Think this satiates my GAS for awhile, I'm going to obsess less about gear and just play more. Eric's a great guy, enjoyed chatting with him too.

Hard to see cus' the shot isn't that crisp, but I asked to put some kind of signature, and he put a little ornate "D" near the table. Nice touch.

Went from a very orange-gold color to a muted yellow.

It's a Chinese Zhenghao mouthpiece that cost me $38 shipped, haha. Eric measured it and apparently the facing is really flat and long (something like 24mm? wow), somewhat uneven, but dang if I play well on it. Other interesting things about it--it's gold-plated but apparently also lacquered on top. There's either a silver or rhodium plating underneath, and it's made of brass.
