Haha. I liked one from his first one...forgot the name...the others were just weird. :D
We have smooth jazz lovers here?!

:D Awsome!

Anyone ever hear of Steve Cole? Nelson Rangell??
I guess that "The smoother the jazz, the jerkier the body movement". It must be to make the audience think they are really playing something.

Nope, I listen to Eric Darius, Gerald Albright, Mike Phillips, Jeff Lorber, Brian Culbertson, Spyro Gira, Norman Brown, and a few others I can't remember.

I like Steve's earlier stuff but his latest album has a tenor tone that doesn't really take to my liking. It's funkiness is not bad. Not saying that that makes Steve a bad player. Obviously, he has done his home work but I prefer his previous albums. Maybe he changed his setup on his most recent album.

I also read that he used Hemke reeds on his recent album. He's usually Van Doren i think.

This is so not true!! It all depends on the cut they're playing.

Both of these are sax rareties. Nelson is one of the prettiest alto sax players in the smooth jazz genre.

We could name a few more...Kirk Whalum, Everette Harp, Najee...Eric Marienthal and Richard Elliot, Dave Koz, David Sanborn....

Take a look at this link...scroll down http://www.smoothjazznews.com/archives/index.html
Eric sounds great. The tracks sucked. Typical GRP sound. Meh.
Here's Marc Russo

Tenor playing is ok.....definitely not my bag though. I must say that the horn/brass samples from that keyboard sound like absolute crap! That's modern technology?! I guess I shouldn't complain about them sounding that way, because if they actually sounded good, even more of us would be out of work.
