I want to build up a couple of keys on a silver plated horn (R&C soprano). I'd like to use epoxy putty, and have two questions:

Will epoxy harm the silver plating in any way?

How do I remove the epoxy if I don't like the modification, without harming the silver plating?

Thanks

Biggest concern is just getting it to stick to shiny silver plate. Make sure you thoroughly degrease the key before applying. Getting them off is real easy with heat they just lift away clean. Doesn't even harm lacquer, although if the horn is new and the key is still shiny lacquer, I will deglaze it slightly with 600 grit sandpaper before applying (after I ask the customer first)...this guarantees it will not pop off at inopportune times.
