Hi sotw, I recently purchased an Emerson flute :
Emerson Serial Numbers - Alpha # F96625
It is not very tarnished and aside from the lining
of the case seems in pretty good shape. It does need
pads and head cork replaced but I was trying to get some
idea of how "experienced" it may be. Anyone know of a
valid/active source for such info?

Thx MajorTomVA

The serial number is not a good indicator of the model type.l I think most Alphas were student line silver plated flutes, closed holes. They were marketed for dealers in the western US. The cost of an overhaul may exceed the value of the flute. A photo would help.
