Hi all,
Do not really mean for this to be an advertisement, but for those who want to check it out as maybe a new (experimental?) genre for sax, there's an album on iTunes now by The Sax Electric called "Sax in the Digital Age." Lots of stuff going on in these songs (made for headphones especially -- Stereo FX) that are a pleasant? break from the saturated smooth jazz sound.

The songs were mixed and mastered with ProTools 12.xx with tons of plugins including: Waves, BreakTweaker (izoTope), Soundtoys' Crystallizer 5, Stutter Edit, Transfuser, various Kontakt 5 instruments, izoTope's Ozone 7, and other sounds and beats from Ableton's Push 2 and the Komplete Kontrol S61 keyboard. The saxes (Yamaha 82zii tenor, Cannoball Big Bell Stone tenor, SA 80ii Selmer soprano) were recorded into the DAW via condenser clip mic (cheap one @ $150) through the Focusrite Clarett 8pre audio interface (most songs) and some songs through the Studiolive 16.4.2 AI digital mixer.

So for those of you who like electronic music AND sax, it might be worth checking out. Link directly to iTunes preview below:
