Looking at eBay at the Eastern Music page , they are not selling NOW the “Eastern Music German Copper Gold Lacquered SBA Style neck”… only the unlacquered version . Have you any idea what happened to the Gold lacquered ?
Eastern Music "Power Neck"
Anyone have any experience with these Chinese-made eBay specials: the Eastern Music "Power Neck"? Seen here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-neck...-saxophone-neck/223466111781?var=522222806452. There's a video demo on YouTube w/ a Series III tenor, but there's next to no change in sound.
Listing says it's made with "Germany [sic] Copper" and then silver plated - an intriguing combo. I'm generally skeptical of anything Chinese-made, but I understand that China has been producing some better instruments and accessories in recent years. Perhaps these necks fall into the "surprising" camp? Then again, I also don't want something made with lead or, perhaps worse, something that makes my tenor sound/play worse.
I currently play a YTS-875B (original Custom, not the EX) with the original M1 neck. I love the horn, but I'm looking for a little more "punch" for my R&B gigs. My other thought is a silver-plated G1 neck.
Thoughts? Other suggestions? Thanks!

These necks are really quite good (for the price, they're outstanding). I just purchased 2 of them for my early 60's MarkVI, an SBA-style lacquer ($70), and an SBA-style hand hammered copper ($160). Both play great. Intonation is perfect. The lacquer one is remarkably free-blowing, a bit more spread sound. Copper has a bit more resistance but a lot more power, more compact and focused. Quite a bit of timbral difference between the two, but both very well made, good players and a bargain. I'm keeping the lacquer one. Anyone interested in a deal on the copper, send me a message.
I bought the Eastern Music "Power neck champagne gold color tenor saxophone SBA style neck with warm sound" with the 28.2 mm tenon to go with my Conn 10M. I'm still putting it through its paces now (with a variety of mouthpieces), but my first impression is quite positive. It fits perfectly and sounds great. Intonation is fine. While I'm still trying to wrap my head around the sound of this neck, so far it is comparable to the stock neck. For $79 US, highly recommended.
when I asked which one is best for Selmer Mark VII, I referred to the different options they have in offer ..
there are different models suited for tenor sax, SBA, silver plated, gold plated, german copper , etc…do you know which Eastern Music necks are best suited for a Selmer Mark VII ?

My Selmer Mark VII Neck, has the pip diameter larger than other necks ( Yamaha YTS-275, and Power Neck ) and I had Sharp notes from A2 up... I filled the pip with a piece of metal film and reduced the diameter and now it plays in Tone .( the inverse situation as you had )Mine blew flat from A2 up, and I noticed the pip diameter was noticeably smaller than my other necks. I opened it with a file and now it plays great and in tune.
How much do these necks weigh? Eastern Music write that weight for tenor necks: 230 or 260 grams . Are they really that heavy or this incorrect information? My heavy Saxgourmet Evolution neck weight 190 grams.

Thank you. I formulated the question a little inaccurately. I see that these necks have been used for Selmers, Beaugniers, Conns. But I'm interested in their compatibility with old Martins.
I had a look and, until now, in this thread, nobody specifically mentioned Martin.
However, since we are on this subject, of course, at least the Martin Necks with the fastening screw built in won’t be able to use the Power Necks while you may use the ones made with in mind an older Conn design for other models.
The very best option for anyone looking to buy an exact reproduction of Martin necks ( more expensive than these power necks €395 + VAT which you don’t pay if outside the EU, I think ) will always be the Blazersatelier in Tilburg ( NL)

I'm curious to try these necks on Dick Stabile and Olds Studio tenors. Usual design (not as Martin Committee/Magna or Keilwerth style).
well, try, but since they were not specifically made to be used on those horns would probably not give the results that you are expecting. The taper, length, volume, position of the pip, octave pip protrusion, may all of partly be wrong.
Yes, I also assume these nuances. And so I thought that someone had tried these necks in the last 3 years of selling these items ...

My Power neck does have also this kind of inner Edge at the Cork ring...I am going to try to Remove it as you do , in order to have exactly the same Diameter as my Selmer Mark 7 neck.I resized my tenon for a better fit to my Selmer Super today.
And whilst at it I removed the inner edge of the cork ring which then made the inner diameter identical to the original neck.
This seems to have really transformed how this neck plays.
The slight gurgling I had previously has gone and the neck seems a little less resistant than before.
I’m extremely happy with how it is now performing.
I have tuning problems with the power neck , with E3 and F3 SHARP...!

I played two Power Necks on my Yamaha 82ZIIUL WOF. One was "German Brass" and the other one was "Hand-hammered Copper". Both fitted nicely and played in tune. In the end, I did not keep them, nor do I play on the V1 anymore. I now have a Yamaha E1 gold plated and a Yamaha C1 Sterling Silver. I am yet undecided which one I prefer but I think I am leaning towards the E1. To me, it provides the best intonation and the right amount of resistance.Has anyone tried this Power Neck on a Yamaha? How does it compare to say G1 and V1 necks?
