My mouthpiece on tenor is a level air 5*. The tip opening is pretty small. Would a 7 make altissimo easier? Some notes are very "reed sensitive". Just wondering.

5* is very small for tenor.

True, but tip size has very little effect on altissimo. I learned altissimo on a C*.

Altissimo is really not a tip opening issue, rather it is an air issue.

Alright then. Why is 5 small? What is better about a 7 or larger? I hear people on here say "they played such and such mouthpiece and altissimo popped out much easier". Are these people deluding themselves? What gives?
