Hi
I was wondering what reeds to combine whith the Dukoff D8 mtpc to get the bright edgy NY sound.

Currently i am using JAVA green and red 2 1/2

You may want to try Vandoren V16's or ZZ's. Or Rico Plasticovers.

Can you post some examples of the "the bright edgy NY sound" Who or what do you mean by that?

Then we may be able to help.

But unlikely sas reeds plat such a small part in the sound. Mostly it's the player, and the mouthpiece.

My experience with a Dukoff D7 mated with a Java 2 reed is that the sound is already bright and edgy which is not to my liking. Of course there is that squeaking problem so I just sold my Dukoff.

Of course there is that squeaking problem so I just sold my Dukoff.
I never had a single squeak so far. been playing for 1yr.
