I wasn't necessarilly thinking to use the same brand of mpc I currently use. Maybe another type of mpc of less strength. Currently I use a Berg Larsen 110/2 and sometimes a Guardala MB II with soft or med soft La Voz.

I was playing tips around 110 for a while but then I wanted to play some harder reeds so I moved down a bit to pieces closer to 100. Now I'm playing Vandoren ZZ 3.5 reeds and loving the projection afforded by the stiffer reed. I don't run out of air as fast, and intonation is better. The sound is a little less big, and more focused, but I like it. Those baffled pieces play well with big tips and softer reeds, but if you want to go in the other direction, just get a smaller tip and start trying some new reeds. If you go smaller than 100 and work at it, you'll probably be able to get into the size 4 and extra hard reed strengths.

Guys, Do you think a really closed mpc will enable me to play a harder size reed like a 3.5 - 4 maybe?
Why? I'm not saying you shouldn't, but it helps to know what you're looking for.....daryl
