I listened to one of my incoming college freshmen play the heck out of the Heiden in an audition today .... it got me thinking about my favorite version by Sinta on his “American Music” album. Not sure why I haven’t listened to this album in such a long time, but wow is it great! The intensity and focus in Sinta’s sound is totally inspiring me today....

I know that piece quite well and posted about it a few months ago. If I recall correctly, someone suggested some performance notes.

I'm curious- what credentials does someone have to have to teach classical saxophone at a state university? I guess I wonder what informs your decisions on what to have students work on- is it based on your graduate work? What other pieces did you perform for your graduate recital or post grad performances that would be ideas to work on? :)
