I play a Selmer at my school and it's beggining band, I wonder if this saxophone is a student sax, but I heard Selmer only makes pro horns.

Selmer USA makes several student saxophones. The Bundy II and AS-500 are a few examples. Some would argue that Selmer USA only makes student and semi-pro saxophones. Not saying I agree with that at all.

Selmer FRANCE makes the pro models (Balaned Action, Mark VI, Mark VII, Super Action 80, Refrence models 54 & 36). Selmer USA, which is pretty much unaffiliated with it's French counterpart makes a line consisting primarily of student model band instruments. The way to tell it to look on the bell of your horn and look for either "Henri Selmer - France" or "Selmer U.S.A."

The AS300 is one of the latest student models developed by Selmer USA.
Selmer has a long history of building affordable ,well made student line saxes
starting with the Bundy . You can do a lot worse than Selmer when it comes
to entry level saxes. Selmer USA has made pro models like the Omega ,
but nowadays is relegated to the student, intermediate market.

Selmer Usa is fine when your in middle school but when you reach your junior year in high school i would suggest maybe moving over to selmer paris or another company that makes pro horns.
