Here's one of a few dixieland play alongs that I put together a little while back that you might like to have a play over while you're stuck in doors.
(I did do an easier level book also, but I thought I'd post the more challenging one! )

Here's the links to the pdf of "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", and the backing track to play along to. (note the pick up bar after the count in)

Do you have the music (not the notation) available in a downloadable format? Would be nice to spice this up a bit with a sopranino taking the part of a clarinet and still leaving the lead for someone else. Can re-post for others to add to. Doing collaborative pieces can be a lot more fun and add a bit more "life" to this track.

Here's a link to where you can download The sheet music to Just a Closer Walk (as well as When The Saints), along with the backing tracks. Just click on "add to cart" at bottom of page (no payment required, they're free). That way you'll have them downloaded to your computer/phone, or whatever so that you can use them as you please.

You will to register I'm sorry, but it only requires a basic password and email address I think. (Don't worry, you won't receive any spam :) )

Let me know if you have any problems.

Thanks Rob. I was able to sign up and place the order for the free Dixieland material, but it seems that it's being posted? There wasn't an option that I could find for downloading. Oh well we tried!

Got it from the nice folks at piglet. Very helpful! Have recorded a sopranino track to go with it. Have posted it on soundcloud here's the link:

The sopranino is taking the clarinet part in an effort to liven up this track. The nino is is still in the background with the rest of "the band". Anyone who wants to play the melody and/or a Trad Jazz improvisation should have plenty of room. just wanted to give this a little "kick".

Robbo,

Thanks for offering the set of sheet music and backing tracks.

Unfortunately, after registration, I got two e-mails, but no download links. the checkout screen does not show any download links, either.

So, I could not take advantage of your offer.

Very nice backing track and written out solo. This is one of my favorite tunes to play and listen to. I can't wait to play through your version. My private teacher turned me on to this version by Tim Laughlin who was a friend and protégé of Pete Fountain. His embellishments of the melody are both beautiful and understated at the same time.
