Did this ever happen to you?

The other day my boyfriend was teachings our sax quartet to play Everybody's Everything's by ear/heart (without sheet music) - That went well, it was pretty easy. We used to play that tune something like 7 years ago with another band. The parts we were shown were almost identical to the parts we played 7yrs ago only, I used to play tenor back then. Now on bari I was actually the only one who had to learn a completely new part.

I wouldn't have been able to remember what I played on tenor back then. But somehow, I remembered exactly what the tuba was playing and I was able to translate that to baritone without anyone telling me what I had to play. I never played that part before, I had never sight readed it, I can't name the notes but I can play it :? That's great, but strange.

oh yeah, that's happened to me before...a long time ago i figured out how to play one of the bridges to "the main monkey business" by rush, and i even incorporated a jazzy feel to it...

...once i figure out an arrangement for the rest of the song, i'll try to get it published (maybe ;))...
