December 2011 Issue of Scooby-Sax Newsletter

The December, 2011 issue of the Scooby-Sax Newsletter is available. This issue focuses on tenor saxophonist Larry McKenna's solo on "My Shining Hour." The solo is analyzed with a particular emphasis on McKenna's use of approach notes. Additional practice ideas related to the use of approach notes in improvisation are given.

You are very welcome! I'll do my best to keep adding good stuff to the site in 2012.

I got a kick out of this. Someone told Larry about the transcription and analysis and he put up a comment on his website:
