I was listening to a version of this great track on Spotify yesterday. All the tracks are seperated so you can do your own mix or listen to to the individual tracks.
The flute part which is beautifully written and played by ? can be heard with the cello and background vocal all on one track! complete with Dave's mumbling left on the track...brilliant.
This is an amazing arrangement with beautiful chords ...very imaginitive. The mellotron and strings are wonderfully produced by Tony Visconti.
I loved this as a kid when it came on the radio and was a sign of great things to come with " The Man who sold the World" and " Hunky Dory"
I actually wrote to David Bowie when still at school about his sax and amazingly he wrote a long reply back detailing his horn ( a Grafton) and his reeds ( plastic).
