Came across this YouTube channel that features Downchild Blues Band's early recordings including their great cover of "Flip Flop and Fly" featuring Dave Woodward on tenor.

Dave went on to play with Power Blues Band for many years...

and -according to Canadian Jam, became "a jazz ensemble leader in his own right, winning the coveted eAlcan National Jazz Awardi. An exceptional recording musician and composer, he has played, written and arranged sessions for countless commercials, movie and television scores and albums over the past two decades."

Great stuff!

I don't know Dave, but I had the great luck to be able to jam on Sunday afternoons with Hock Walsh for about about 6 months in the early nineties. Just the greatest guy ever.
