Hey
I have his album "saxophonic" and "a smooth jazz christmas" and would like to buy more Dave Koz stuff. What albums of his are worth buying? I like his alto work, not too keen on his soprano.
Any suggestions welcome please.

Off The Beaten Path isn't a bad album either. It's an enhanced CD with goodies you can view on your computer.

Sounds silly but Dave Koz is the reason I picked up the saxophone...Back in the early 90's I went to the "Jazz" section of the then Musicland music store...I just picked a couple cds that looked cool(This was back when the cds came in those big, oblong boxes)...I got Dave Koz and Branford's classical soprano album...I was completely taken with the playing on those cds...I haven't taken the horn out of my mouth since...

Dave Koz is a master at what he does...I've still so much to learn from his playing...Simply melodies can go a long way...I'm finally getting to see him in concert here in Tokyo at the beginning of next month...I'll try to get a pic...

Cheers.

Ryan,

You'll have a good time at the Koz show. The guy is an entertainer through and through! I've been to a couple of his shows over the years and he doesn't disappoint.
