My Selmer bari has a serial number 797xxx. I've tried the Google machine to no avail. Does anyone know what year/model this horn is?

You want us to date your horn? I date only sopranos and contraltos .

The reason why you haven't found it on line is that they are only up to date to 1992...

This app from the Dutch importer dates instruments up to 2002

If your horn is newer than that you won't find it there.
