Hi my sax teacher for jazz recently told me that I play with a "Cool School Jazz" tone. What does this mean and what are some good players to listen to that also play my style? Thanks

Lester Young is the place to start any investigation of the cool sound. He started it all...

on alto Lee Konitz, Art Pepper, Paul Desmond...

on tenor, Warne Marsh, Ted Brown, Stan Getz, Allen Eager, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn, Brew Moore...

Desmond and Konitz on alto and Mulligan on bari as well as trumpeters like Chet Baker and Art Farmer. Sometimes it's also referred to as "West Coast jazz".
