I have a no-name brass tenor sax made in Czechoslovakia which has to be an Amati, as I saw an identical one in a music shop described as an Amati. I would date it 60's or 70's. It doesn't have the G# hold down extension by the C# key on the pinky plate. Student model I guess.
My qhery is, does anyone know if the buttons for this sax were at any time of a convex type, made of a plain opaque cream coloured material that was not mother of pearl?.
Mine are flat (not concave) m o p but I have a vague memory of playing a previous one with slightly convex buttons which I really liked, and it is bugging me!
I am talking about ALL buttons, not just the thumb rest.
