You think so? I was hoping to trade them as a package deal for a Mark VI neck (cork). One can always dream...Well, you have at least 20$ worth of saxophones right there.
Thanks, The silver plated body w/gold all pearl keys came in yesterday. The gold plated one I've posted samples before (portrait 20's girl lying down over a dead animal (bear?) rug...here's some from the other post:Wow! Beautiful horns. Take more pictures of the gold plated alto. It looks great!
Nope, and the keys don't fit any tighter, etc and I have a bunch of Conn Altos still...maybe 12 or 13 right now---just sold a 26M. For example, of all of the really nice (beautiful) Martin Tenors I have (3 Gold plated, A couple nicely engraved Silver Plate ones) my go to horn is a relacquered, engraving buffed out Martin Handcraft Imperial with a non-Martin neck.Let me ask you, if you've played a bunch of vintage Conns. Trying to be as unbiased as you can... do you find that the more deluxe horns, such as those with gold plate, seem to rise above? Or perhaps maybe your best vintage Conn had its silver plate buffed out in favor of red-rotting lacquer. I know it's hard not to be swayed by a horn's beauty, but the best Conn alto I ever tried was a gold plated model that wasn't even in the best playing shape.
What ya got?I would trade you if they were tenors![]()

I plan on doing some proper photos when I get home this evening of both horns together and the bow/body engraving.
Beautiful engraving on both. Do you use a 60w or 75w bulb in your lamps ?So as a side note, the "silver plated" Virtuoso Deluxe is actually gold plated after all. It took quite a bit of polishing but the remaining original gold plate did "come out" after several hours. The horn is now in very good playing shape, but has been well used in the past. A "players" Virtuoso Deluxe if such a thing can be ascribed.
