i have had this sax for a while. its serial number 31006 and on the serial number list that i use which is the one on saxophone.org. it puts it as 1914 conn new invention. but today someone told me that i was wrong and that it was probably a wonder improved. i have a 1909 conn wonder improved but the key work is different between them. i dont really care which one it is i just want to know which one it really is. pictures coming.

From saxpics and Conn Loyalist, it appears that it would be a Wonder (Improved).

yeah they showed me the one on saxpic. im just trying to find pictures to see if they are similar but i cant. like i said i hve a 1909 wonder improved alto and they look different

I once got to try a tenor from this range; with the metal key touches and a front F. Great old honker that horn was. Couldn't think of a better horn for rowdy bar gig.

Yeah I love playing it. It plays every note so easily and effortlessly. Can't get this kind of sound from a new sax

I have the tenor twin of this alto (SN 303xx) - I've been told from a range of people who I suspect are reliable authorities that it's a Wonder Improved, but I'd hoped it was a New Invention.

How does this play? Intonation, tone, feel? I'm considering spending the $$ to get mine overhauled, would you say it's worth it? How does it go on gigs?
