My friend has a really nice Conn tenor for sale that he refers to as a Chu. According to the serial number chart on Valdermort's site, the Chus ended with 240xxx, and this one is a 243xxx, making it a Tranny. Is this the general consensus of when the models changed?

243xxx still places it solidly in the 'Chu' category, although it will have some subtle transitional features.

I've got a 261xxx which is definitely a tranny but I still consider it a Chu for practical purposes as it is far closer to a Chu than a 10M.

is there an ad for it on the web?
No, he's a local non-internet dealer. He's going to be selling it, but he was wanting me to try and figure out what a fair price is. It was his personal horn, but he's reaching the end of his playing days and is liquidating some stuff.
