Both instruments recorded with no effects or eq added.
Same mouthpiece and reed used in both performances. Old Long shank Soloist C* - Vandoren Java #3 reed

I am not going to comment on my impressions yet. I will say that both instruments are in wonderful playing condition. They both seal and have fantastic set-ups.

there was a clear difference in power - the Conn, winner, hands down. Which coincides with my own experience when I briefly, in a fit of insanity, decided to play a "modern" sax. To me the alto tends to be too fluffy sonically anyway, so you have to get whatever advantage you can get.

I (nearly) have both of these altos!

Two 6M and a zoo of Yanys. Not the AWO30, but had the AWO10 and have the AWO1 and A9935.

Gotta agree with allenlowe about the power difference. Love those Yanys.
But when I get an alto gig that requires coexisting with electric guitars, the 6M is going.

There are few certainties in saxophonedom, but one of them is that if you choose a Conn 6M for a classical recital, you are in for a letdown. You might feel you did a fine job. You might even be right. But there are only a few tonal palettes acceptable in concert saxophone music, and none of them even come close to the irrepressibly brawny voice of a great 6M. Even at a whisper of sweetest purity, it's unmistakable.

Would you want to see Cyd Charisse dance in Appalachian Spring? Of course not...even tho she was sublime. So is the sound of the 6M. But it is not a saxophone for all seasons.
