Hi friends,
I guess it's turning into a little series of 'lockdown ballads'. Here's a lovely Conn 6M with a rather tasty Florida STM, on 'When Sunny Gets Blue'.
Piano backings are my own.
All the best in difficult times :)

Absolutely gorgeous !

I know it's the player rather than the equipment, but it makes me want to get out my 6M and Link STM and see what that combination sounds like.

Bravo, again.

Rhys
Thanks Rhys,
As a combination it took a bit of getting used to, not least because the Link is much harder to play in tune than my Selmer Classic - it's generally flat on the 6M (it's pushed all the way in and the micro tuner is as sharp as it can be) but the lower notes are naturally sharper. I think the tuning will even out as I build familiarity with it. It's harder work for sure but when you find that sweet spot it really does sound and feel fabulous - it's got a lovely edge and projection to it that the classic doesn't have quite as much.
Glad you enjoyed it. Planning some more.
Cheers.
