Anyone know what Emelio Lyons the "sax doctor" coates his pads with? And what is the process? Seems like some kind of clear urathane like coating ....

I always had Emilio do my overhauls when I lived in Boston and I was always pleased with the pad life. 6 years ago I had my local tech overhaul my horn. My local guy asked if I wanted my pads treated (after seeing that it was an Emilio job before) I said yeah sure. 6 years later I have had to replace just 2 pads.

But is the "sealing" you are happy with - pads against tone holes - without gorilla grip - up to the expectations of others?
