I'm kvellin'! My son had recently participated in the Boysie Lowery Living Jazz Residency, a two-week artist residency -created to provide space to grow for young jazz artists (17-25) who are both composers and performers. At the end of the program, the participants performed their compositions at the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in Wilmington, DE. My son's ensemble played a set of original compositions from each member of the group. Some of the tunes were written during the two-week jazz residency. Below is video of their set. My son's two compositions are the opening number and the sixth song.
