Does anyone know if Classic Saxophone Online (shop.classicsax.com) is "in business"?
I ordered a Vandoren Reed Resurfacer & Reed Stick from them 9/4/2007. It was payed the same day. And I got an order confirmation. But I haven´t got anything yet. I have send 3 emails and left a message on their phone answering machine, but gets no answer.

They were in business this summer. I orderd the Sinta CD from them around Augest.

Oh, yes 'm familiar with the company Classic Saxophone Online

I ordered a Rascher mouthpiece from this company this past August and then canceled the order (by email) within hours of my placing it (I had discovered the Rascher mouthpiece was more of a "classical" mouthpiece and I was interested in a "jazz" mouthpiece). My cancellation obviously did not get through because lo and behold I received the mouthpiece a month and a half later? I subsequently sent the mouthpiece back to the company without even opening the box it came in and have now phoned the company 5 times and emailed 3 times but still to this day have not received a refund on my credit card. I will never (and I repeat), never deal with this company again!! For the life of me, I don't understand how this company can remain in business.

Keep Your Money in Your Pocket

I bought a new Keilwerth Shadow Tenor from them. I spoke to the proprietor, Robert (Bob) Haley, on the phone. I asked if he would set up the horn. He agreed, said that his tech would set up the horn, and asked for an extra day to ship it. I said sure. It arrived in barely playable condition with four glaringly obvious leaks and an improperly assembled set of middle spatula keys.

I wound up having to pay for a set up myself. Granted, personal input can be an important part of the interaction with a tech, but this horn was not even in playable condition as shipped. I love the horn, but I won't buy from them again.

:x I payed for the gods with credit card but still have not heard from them, so I got the credit card company to follow the case to get my money back.

I would have written sooner regarding my experiece withthis outfit,but I hesitated not wanting to badmouth someone. That said, I had a bad experience when after ordering a mpc, my credit card was billed within days but I never got the mpc. I spoke with the owner twice who stated that it was sent to me. I had to complain to my credit card company and got the charge-about 100.00-removed. That was the end of the matter but like others have stated ,I would never deal with him again. Too bad because he has some interesting things on the site.

It's great to have the evaluations here. They had a slightly better price on Otto Link Tone Edge 6 for Baris, but obviously not worth the possibility of a saved $20.
