Can anyone recommend any contemporary jazz clarinet (principle instrument) players.
Some that I am familiar with are:
Anat Cohen
Don Byron
Eddie Daniels
John Surman
Ken Peplowski
Louis Sclavis
Paquito d' Rivera
Tony Scott
Any others?

cheers- preston

John Barnes and Tony Coe from the UK.

I'm afraid that Tony Scott hasn't been contemporary for a few years now. His last cd, 'A Jazz Life', was a fantastic piece of work but unfortunately it was also a little prescient.

Allen Konigsberg, aka...
Woody

Woody, speaking of Dexter Gordon's performance in "Round Midnight" said that "For a musician, Dexter Gordon in a great actor". Dexter's reply was; "I wish I could say the same of his clarinet playing."
