What you are about to hear is a Mp3 that I made - using a 30 sec clip of April in Paris during a gig I had in 2003 and With a gig from a few nights ago - with the same guys - in the same hall - using almost the same recording equipment (I think I added touch of reverb to the 1st from 2003 as well).

I had been a Vintage Conn Nut for MANY MANY Years and recently went to a 1952 Silver Super Balanced Action.

I am Playing the Lead Alto Chair.

Now....1st is the conn - 2nd is the selmer - both with a RPC 95

Thoughts????

Good sounding band.

My impression is that the sax section was better balanced in the first recording than the second. The lead was kind of up front in the second. Were they the same sidemen?

Your lead sound is great on both, right in style on the button.
RPCs are amazing pieces. I just switched from a slant sig 6* to a 90R about a month ago ( I play lead alto in a similar band). I really like the flexibility the RPC gives me in sound.

THanks for the recording.
